Exceptional Service. We purchased a glass from them while visiting. Upon returning home we found it to leak, an obvious flaw as the owner said that has not happened before. Erick offered to replace it for us. Very considerate considering we are out of state! Beautiful shop! Great service!

I was looking for a piece of pottery that I could use as a wall hanging. This shop had many offerings that it took a moment to select what we wanted. The piece was not made for that purpose but the staff was able to provide ideas how to hang it. Beautiful pottery and a fun shopping experience.

Edgecomb Potters, just across the bridge from Boothbay Harbor, has been a cornerstone of Maine craft since the 1970s. What began in a small red schoolhouse grew into a gallery and studio space known for its distinctive porcelain pottery and innovative glaze work. Visitors today find shelves filled with crystalline-glazed bowls, vases, and mugs, each piece one-of-a-kind, shimmering with colors that shift like the Maine coast itself. Alongside the pottery, the gallery showcases jewelry, glass, paintings, and home accents from Maine artisans, making it a destination for handmade craft. More than a shop, Edgecomb Potters represents decades of creativity and experimentation. Its legacy lives on in every piece pulled from the kiln -- functional art rooted in local tradition, yet always reaching for new expressions.

Maine Pottery Company/Edgecomb Potters recently took over the Stonewall Kitchen store in downtown Portsmouth. I love their store in downtown Portland and other Maine locations, so this was a nice surprise. Their pottery, wall hangings, framed art, lamps, and other items are always a pleasure to look at and admire.

I've been to the store in Portland, and I've ordered a piece online. Both experiences were very pleasant. In the store, even though I didn't buy anything at the time (I didn't want it to break on the plane ride home), the woman who showed me around took the time to answer all of my questions. She was extremely knowledgeable about all the different types of pottery, even explaining one particular glazing process in minute detail. The collections were varied, and all were beautiful in different ways. Months later, I went to their website and purchased one of the pieces I'd admired in the store. The piece arrived quickly, packed very carefully with detailed care instructions. It looked even better than I remembered, and it made a lovely gift for a dear friend of mine. I can't wait to visit the store again when I return to Portland this summer.

This is a must stop place whenever I visit the Boothbay area. I love browsing the discounted pieces, which always look nearly perfect and are such a great value. I can never resist buying a piece or two as gifts for family and friends.

Beautiful store with beautiful pottery. Loved walking around this store. Such beautiful pottery and other art to look at. I didn't end up buying anything from this store since some of the stuff is on the more expensive side. Everything in this store is high quality and gorgeous.

Over four years ago during a driving trip with mom and stepdad, we stopped by to this shop for me to find this compelling piece I've been treasuring since then and still didn't regret it to this day! They really have unique, colorful potteries to choose from. It's worth having an authentic, handmade item from Maine!

Edgecomb Pottery has a beautiful selection of glazed pottery and is my go to for wedding and family gifts. Shopping at Edgecomb Pottery is very special as it brings a spectacular Maine made gift to loved ones and the recipients all love it! I would especially like to recognize Doug at Edgecomb Pottery who helped me with a unique order this week shipping to Florida. He provided me with excellent++ customer service and was most accommodating in helping me with my gift order. Thank you for all your efforts as I am most appreciative. Looking forward to my next visit to Edgecomb Pottery!

Pottery shops this large usually make my eyes glaze over (no pun intended), but this one is always interesting to visit. They have some truly beautiful and unique items and a lot more than just pottery. I also love their store in Portland's Old Port district.

We stopped in at this large pottery that offers a wide variety of pottery that likely will appeal to most tastes. The various glazes on the sets of pottery were unique. The showroom also includes wall art, jewelry and pieces of sculpture.

Shopping along Market Street, I visited Edgecomb Potters. Browsing the shop, I saw dinnerware, serving pieces, chowder mugs, coffee mugs, coasters, tiles, candy dishes, trinket dishes, multi-use dishes and bowls, pump-type soap dispensers, vases, candlesticks, and more. In the housewares line, I particularly liked the shell-shaped chip-and-dip bowl. There was also some jewelry -- mostly earrings. I saw some necklaces. They had some very nice things. As expected, I learned that all the pottery was made in the Edgecomb, Maine location between Wiscasset and Boothbay.

Yesterday I was at a really fun antique/thrift store in Great Barrington Ma and I came upon this gorgeous glazed bowl. I picked it up, I put it down, walked around, picked it up and just said, yup gotta get it. When I arrived home in Lowell MA, I picked up bowl and when I turned it over, a huge smile came to my face - it has the Edgecomb Potters signature on it. AHHHHH. So, I first was turned on to Edgecomb Potters by a very dear friend, Ingeborg Inky MacDougall, who had a little house on a body of water in Nobleboro Maine, in or around 1980, when she took me to this little red school house in Edgecomb. She introduced me to the owner, who had the most beautiful eyes, was so handsome and so so nice to boot. He showed me all around the place, outside where the kiln was. As I looked around I was in awe of the creations before me. The glazes - so unique and so amazing. That day I went I think it was kind of a little room in back where the seconds were kept. I purchased the gorgeous pitcher shown below as well as a few dinner plates, a few bowls and a vase in the same family. They have been my treasures for 40 years. I googled Edgecomb Potters and then see how they have grown and peruse website to look at the stunning glazes once again. A very unique and talented man who made a deep impression on this girl. May he rest in peace and may his legacy live on and continue to bring big smiles to peoples faces.

I had one Edgecomb Potters mug for a decade that has been my absolute favorite mug the entire time. Durable enough to withstand the test of time with being used literally every day of my life, but also absolutely beautiful to look at. Whenever I have guests over and offer coffee they go for my Edgecomb mug first. So I decided recently it was time to bring a couple more into the house. No more wasting time with junk mugs. These new ones are utter perfection. I'm sipping my coffee from a functional piece of art every day and I couldn't love it more. The price is WELL worth what you get. I wish I could give these guys TEN STARS. Will be ordering more soon!

Edgecomb Potters has been around for years and years and welcomes visitors with a huge wrap around deck with some of their outdoor sculpture pieces appropriately placed around the deck. With multiple buildings and rooms they offer a first class selection of unique and beautiful pieces of sculptured art and glazed pottery. A feast for the eyes but not inexpensive. Worth stopping by!

If you like artisan goods, Edgecomb Pottery is a good place to visit. Attractive 2 story shop with a variety of items for gifts or yourself. We went to two places, one in Edgecomb and a smaller place in Portland on the water with a smaller collection of goods. They have clocks, jewelry, knickknacks and great gifts. They also have many items on sale with better pricing. Worth a visit.

This gallery is a must stop! Convenient parking and 20% off merchandise welcomed us on the wrap around deck but it was the art gallery presentation inside that was the knock out....pottery of course, glassware, jewelry, metal art...and oh oh oh those glazes!!

My family and I love Edgecomb potters. I am a sucker for their coffee mugs and love the glazes that they develop...some year-in and year-out...others more short term. Their items are quite beautiful and you can outfit your entire kitchen/dining room if you like. While they look fragile, I've had good luck using their coffee mugs on a daily basis and as long as you don't knock them real hard, they are fairly hardy. For me, a daily reminder of my time in Maine.

Hold onto your young ones and go - it will be worth it!!! Gorgeous, breathtaking pieces full of elegance and taste. I picked something up with my tween and took a brochure to add to my own collection later (they do ship out of state). Just walking through the store was incredibly moving. Unexpected and exquisite!

This place is beautiful. It is not your typical pottery place, it is so much more, and the quality, style, and options of pottery is amazing. This place is more like an art gallery, because it's not just pottery, but jewelry, wall art, glassware, home decorations. I don't know how to describe this place. It's just super wonderful shop. It was hard to walk out with just a few pieces. We were lucky they were open on the 4th of July, and they were having a big sale on seconds. I have no idea why most of them were seconds! But we came home with two amazing pieces and it was hard to decide which two. Please take the time, this place really is amazing. Even if you can't bring yourself to purchase, walk around, go through the little shop outside that shows you the history of the place, and read the quotes around the shop to understand more about this local business. It is by far, the best pottery shop I have ever been to.

I was in the neighborhood and when I walked into this store I was in awe. The handmade pottery was great but the glazes were amazing. They have everything from dinnerware to jewelry. A must if you are in the Boothbay / Edgecomb area.

We wanted a really nice souvenir from our first trip to Maine, and we got it at Edgecomb Potters! Actually, we got several, because there are too many wonderful things there to just get one! The building itself is beautiful, and I was amazed at all the discounted pottery on display outside on the deck. I chose several items from the deck, and when I went inside, it got even better. It was a feast for the eyes - gorgeous pottery, woodworking, blown glass and metal works of art, mostly made right there by local artists. We bought more things from inside, and had it all shipped from there. I smile every time I look at my beautiful souvenirs - so glad we went there!!

This is a must stop if you like pottery and other decorative items. We spent quite a bit of time here and bought 3 things including a whale tail mug, which I knew in advance I had to have. The quality and originality of their wares has to be better than most things you would see in Freeport.

The pottery here is world class, museum quality with prices that reflect it. Everywhere you look there are beautiful pieces. Even the second-hand pieces displayed outside were exceptional. If you enjoy pottery this is a must stop. We arrived close to closing, so we didn't have enough time to look, our loss.

Visited while vacationing in the area -- my husband was searching for the perfect coffee mug and found one with a whale fin incorporated into the handle. Really beautiful, it's now his favorite. Looked for the Edgecomb Potters website when we got home and must say that their photography does not really represent the beauty of the items in real life. So if you're nearby, definitely worth a visit, lots of pottery, jewelry, sculptures, and more.

This is not JUST POTTERY! Museum quality and works of art is the best way to explain what Edgecomb Potters create. Many many thanks to the employees working 8/13/2017 who made every attempt to make me feel comfortable after I did the unthinkable. You know who you are and I am forever grateful to you. I came in for a piece to take home to remember my stay here and I got that piece and so much more. I will remember this day and the people of Edgecomb Potters.

I am a big fan of Edgecomb pottery. I had never been to their store and stumbled across it on the way to Boothbay. The sales pieces were a great deal and there were so many show pieces to look at. The store is set up beautifully to feature many different types of pottery and glazes. It's really a lovely place to walk around even if you're just window shopping.

I was so excited to see this gallery was open at 9:00 in the morning, because I really wanted to stop here. I was not disappointed. I totally recommend this to anyone who appreciates pottery. There is a huge display of many different glazes, functional pieces, patterns, etc. I was there for almost an hour simply admiring the work of this pottery group. Of course, I had to bring something home for myself!

Edgecomb Potters has been in Maine for many years. Looking through their store and old School House is much like visiting a museum - but you can purchase the items on display. There is something for all tastes at a wide range of prices. It is a great place to purchase a handmade gift from your trip to Maine.

Great collection of pottery made on site as well as many other top notch sculptures, crafts and gifts for many occasions. This is in many ways like a museum where you can also buy what you like or a top level craft show - and it is all made in the US!

We began buying pottery when potters were still in there school house in 1997. Every August for number of years, we would visit Maine from Maryland and always stopped to see how much they had expanded and what was new. Bought many pieces.
